Airbourne is a straightforward rock band in the Aussie gin mill rock custom of AC/DC, the Angels, and Rose Tattoo: four-spot guys with beers in hand world Health Organization would instead die than be caught wearing a pinko shirt.

The brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe grew up in the land town of Warrnambool, with a collection of classical Australian rock albums stolen from their uncle. When everyone about them was listening to current medicine, they were hard entrenched in the music of the '70s and '80s they longed to re-create. Joel took on vocals and lead guitar and Ryan the drums while silent in school, earning them the hostility of their neighbors, world Health Organization sent the constabulary around with noise complaints multiple times.

Second base guitar player David Roads was sourced from the local public house, where Joel O'Keeffe worked. Bass role player Justin Street was encountered in the town's sand dunes by Ryan O'Keeffe while drunkenly rolling down them, and with his addition Airbourne was discharge. The four-spot presently moved to the metropolis of Melbourne to find venues uncoerced to bear them.

Steadily acting, they EP called Ready to Rock in 2004. Hard work paying off with support slots for acts of the Apostles including the Rolling Stones and Mötley Crüe and a billing at the Big Day Out festival in 2006. That yr they were invited to the U.S.A. by Capitol Records to book their debut album, Runnin' Wild, with producer Bob Marlette.

When Capitol merged with Virgin they were one of several artists dropped, though they managed to quickly sign a new shrink with Roadrunner Records to secure a general exit for their album. Runnin' Wild proven popular with video recording game producers, and songs were licensed for use in the games NHL 08, Madden NFL 08, and Skate.
