Newly created position is head of motion painting talent
Andrew Rogers has been tapped for a new created stance as head of the motion impression talent department at Paradigm.

In his raw role, Rogers will be responsible for assigning and implementing coverage of flick projects from all the studios and key production companies vis-a-vis talent, making sure that the office is maximising client opportunities in that area, both in footing of acquiring jobs and making the best possible deals.
Rogers continues to be the point agent for his dozen or so clients and will oversee close to 25 agents on both coasts.

Veterans' Groups File Notice To Overturn Dismissal Of PTSD Care Suit

Two veterans groups on Monday filed a notice with the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to overturn the decision of a frown court judge that pink-slipped a stratum action suit seeking to force changes to the Department of Veterans Affairs' health caution system, the Washington Times reports (Hudson, Washington Times, 7/29). U.S. District Judge Samuel Conti in June dismissed the lawsuit, filed by the Veterans for Common Sense and the Veterans United for Truth. Lawyers for the deuce veterans groups said that staff shortages, long waits, inadequate guardianship and an adversarial appeals process for denied aid have created an "epidemic of suicides" among veterans. The case also said that VA was ignoring or delaying treatment of post-traumatic strain disorder for as many as 750,000 veterans. The cause did not seek redress but instead sought for the court to force VA to improve care for veterans, especially those with PTSD and other mental health issues.
In his ruling, Conti agreed with the veterans groups' claims that there was a high veteran suicide and PTSD rate; that the VA was short-handed; and that there were long wait periods for hearing veterans' appeals of benefit denials. In addition, Conti found that members of the two groups "have faced significant delays in receiving disability benefits and medical care from the VA," often with "dire consequences." However, he noted that a absolute majority of veterans have been seen inside 30 years. He added that although the delays were "significant," they did not violate a veteran's right to due sue because thither was no consensus on how "timely" processing would be defined (Kaiser Daily Health Policy Report, 6/26).
A statement from the veterans groups said that a "flood of veterans with mental health problems will proceed to increment" as soldiers continue to be sent to Iraq and Afghanistan for multiple tours of duty (Washington Times, 7/29).

Ken Imaizumi knew after all the long hours he and hundreds of others had worked on making Metal Gear Solid 4 something special had paid off when they made a woman cry. The veteran video game producer said he knew because the woman in question was from the Japanese ratings board.
�She watches the videos for all the new games � up to 5,000 games a year � and when she watched the video of this game, and she got to the end, she cried,� Imaizumi told Metro at a Konami preview event recently in San Francisco.
�She said: �This is not just a game.�� This emotion-packed stealth/action game, the latest in a franchise that has sold more than 20 million units over the last decade and a half, hits the streets exclusively for PlayStation 3 tomorrow and assistant producer Ryan Payton definitely agrees the creators have come up with something special.
�It�s not your normal game,� Payton said. �There are so many elements, layers and layers of complexity and jokes and story. It was really an epic development experience and it�s an epic game playing experience as well.�
As for what fans can expect from MGS4, the producer said, simply, the end.

Pete Wentz - Wentz Slams Mtv Bosses
Newlywed PETE WENTZ has taken time out of celebrating his nuptials to launch a scathing attack on music network MTV.
The Fall Out Boy bassist is "frustrated" by bosses at the channel because of the small amount of airtime actually dedicated to playing music.
The 28-year-old has even started a poll on his online blog, asking fans, "What's the number one thing you hate about MTV?"
And Wentz says, "I could only assume that you would be completely frustrated with the same things I am with MTV. It is a network called music television that does not play music videos. And when they do play videos, it is in 30 second clips on (show) TRL or underneath the credits of whatever reality show.
"The truth is whole videos should be played. Bands should play live. Premieres should be a big deal like they used to be, not just a snippet of a video. Artists should be able to let their imaginations go and know that people will be able to see what they have crafted. Artists should talk about their videos. we should and can make the music video important again."

The 'Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack' housemates have been speaking about the upcoming evictions and trying to predict who will be leaving the house next.
According to the show's official website, Amy and Nathan have been speculating about who is safe and who might be forced to leave.
Speaking about the evictions, Amy said: "I'd rather it be Monday. I can't wait four days."
Nathan replied: "I feel the same way as you but I'm not going to be disappointed."
Amy then said that she "had fears about leaving on the first day" and presumed that she would "probably leave in the middle".
Nathan then suggested that Anthony, John, Amy, Jay and Jeremy would make the final of the show on Monday.
Amy predicted the Calista and Emilia would be evicted tonight.
All of the housemates, except for John and Anthony, are currently facing the public vote ahead of tonight's eviction.
John won immunity from eviction in an earlier task, while Anthony only received one nomination.

Formed in the too soon '90s by guitar player John Herschel Glenn Jr. Daniel Jones, multi-instrumentalist Robin redbreast Amos, erst of the Girls, and Slug La Volta drummer Chris Guttmacher, Cul de Sac released their number 1 LP, Ecim, on the self-governing Northeastern label. Bassist and plastic film producer Chris Fujiwara played on the button as well and became a lasting member of the dance orchestra. In addition, steel guitar player and fiddler Ed Yazijian and tapeline manipulator/collagist Phil Milstein performed on Ecim.
